Biography
Allison D. Byman is experienced in business and consumer bankruptcy matters representing, debtors, creditors, trustees, committees and equity interest holders. Allison was appointed as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for the Southern District of Texas in April 2012. Since then, she has focused her practice on consumer and small business bankruptcy matters. She also represents other chapter 7 trustee's in the Southern District of Texas. Allison serves as post confirmation trustee and in other bankruptcy fiduciary capacities as well.
Allison was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2003 and is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts of Texas for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts. She was named one of the Texas Rising Stars by Thomson Reuters (Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights) in 2010, 2013-2018.
Before starting her own firm, Allison worked as of counsel at Hughes Watters Askanase, LLP and as an associate with Thompson & Knight LLP in Houston where she supported the firms' Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Practice Groups. Outside of work, Allison enjoys running, watching her kids play all lacrosse and football and reading.
